Carmen Montanez-Callan

Carmen’s career in music and moving image began in Music Video as Head of Music at Academy Films, followed by Music Video Commissioner at Island Records, London. During this time, she worked with international artists such as Amy Winehouse, Paul Weller, Sugababes, Goldfrapp, The Feeling and Ian Brown, along with multi-award-winning directors, including Jonathan Glazer and Lynne Ramsay.

Carmen then went on to become a Music Supervisor for Film and TV, working on BAFTA-winning dramas, ‘Murdered for Being Different’ (BBC) and ‘Don’t Take My Baby’ (BBC), as well as feature-length documentary films including, ‘They Will Have to Kill Us First.’

Her hands-on background in Production and the Music Industry gives Carmen an in-depth understanding of the inner workings and processes of both industries and therefore, a unique grounding as a Music Supervisor.

Carmen is currently working on a Factual Entertainment show called, ‘Faster: Race the World’ (Sky), and dramas, ‘Mother’s Day’ and ‘MotherFatherSon’ (BBC).
